"Pocket calendars" were created as a symbolic farewell with artist's great-grand mother, who she's never met personally, and knows only from the stories of her grandmother. The album of small pocket calendars was an object that she owned and collecting them was her hobby. In her series Mariia repeated some of them in the needlepoint, the exact technique her great-grand mother used to stitch in. In this symbolic action artist tries to be closer to a person who she never knew, where the repetition of technique becomes a gesture giving the possibility to feel the other, understanding what she could have felt in those moments through movement.
